Locksmith Bonalba, Valle del Sol, El Ravalet and the partidas between
Mutxamel covers 47.7 km² and 28 population nuclei, from the bed of the Monnegre at 40 metres up towards the Sabinar at about 470, ten kilometres north of Alicante. All of it is covered, from the Plaça Nova to the last partida, and so are Sant Joan d’Alacant, El Campello, Busot and Xixona.

The town centre
Round the church of El Salvador, about 10 km north of Alicante
The church, begun in 1511, still has the defence tower people sheltered in during corsair raids; it is the bell tower now. Round it are the Plaça Nova with its overhanging upper floors, the Casa Ferraz and its gardens on the Paseo de la Constitución, and La Rambla. Front doors here open straight onto the pavement.

El Ravalet
Just north of the centre
The oldest part of the town, and its streets still follow the Moorish plan: narrow, and not made for a van. Say which corner is nearest and the last stretch is done on foot.

Penya-serrada
In the north of the municipality
Its palace is a Bien de Interés Cultural, and the village was a municipality of its own between 1789 and 1846. Houses here are better found by the palace than by a street name.

Bonalba and Cotoveta
Towards the coast, a couple of kilometres from San Juan beach
Homes round an 18-hole course, Ramón Espinosa’s design, with five lakes in play on ten holes. The way in from the AP-7 is exit 67 towards Xixona, then the N-340 and the road between Busot and Bonalba.

On the line with Alicante, near the Monnegre riverbed
Two urbanizations that sit across the boundary between Mutxamel and Alicante: some plots are in one municipality, some in the other. For a locksmith it changes nothing, but a pin on WhatsApp saves a wrong turn.

On the road from Mutxamel to Xixona
About 350,000 m² and more than 25 firms. Since 2022 the park has had closed-circuit cameras linked to the Policía Local. Unit doors are opened and their locks changed; nothing is fabricated.

Four towns beyond the municipal line
- Sant Joan d'Alacant. Next door to the south-east.
- El Campello. Next door to the east, down to the sea.
- Busot. Up the road past Bonalba.
- Xixona. Along the road out past Riodel.
Alicante city is not part of the area, apart from the Alicante side of Valle del Sol and Monnegre. Those two estates straddle the boundary, which is why their addresses can be confusing.

Distance, addresses and the edges of the area
Do you go into Alicante city?
No. The area is Mutxamel and the four towns listed on this page. The exception is the part of Valle del Sol and Monnegre on the Alicante side: those urbanizations are covered whole.
Our house has no number, only the name of the partida. Is that enough?
With a location pin on WhatsApp, yes. Without one, give the partida, the camino and something nobody could miss: a water tank, a gate colour, the house name on the wall.
Is the drive to Bonalba or Busot longer than to the town centre?
Usually a little, and the estimate given on the phone always takes it into account. It depends on where the van is at that moment, so no fixed time is promised for any place.
